About CCBF
Launched in March 2008, the Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF) is an initiative of the Business Environment Council (BEC). The CCBF as part of BEC is a unique and inspiring business leader’s platform, led by Hong Kong businesses.
Research is a core part of our work, with a majority of our membership fees being channeled into commissioning and producing research and best practice to enhance the understanding of how the business community needs to respond to climate change.
The Forum brings together industry leaders from the Power and Energy Sector, Transport, Property, and Financial Services. All business members accept the views of the scientists of the International Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) and acknowledge that enough is known about the science of climate change for business to take actions to address its consequences.
Objectives
• To take leadership and influence the business community to take concrete steps to reduce emissions and share best practice on the carbon intensity of businesses
• To identify and communicate the opportunities and risks businesses will face from climate change and highlight best practice
• To commission research on the impacts of climate change to business, relevant to Hong Kong on both a local and international level
